March Favorites: By Made Beautiful Hair Products

Hey Fashloves,

If you've been reading my blog for a little bit then you may have known that last year I was transitioning from getting relaxers
to becoming natural. In my Healthy Hair Care Journey post I gave brief insight as to why I decided to go natural and provided products that I had been using during my transitioning process. Since then, I fully cut off my relaxed ends and officially entered the natural hair life! Let me tell you all how I had absolutely NO idea what I was doing while transitioning and right after my big chop. I knew the basics such as avoiding certain products (sulfates and parabens) but instead of doing my own research, I decided why not just use products that everyone else was using right? WRONG. Although some products work for other naturals, that didn't necessarily mean that my tresses would love them too.

I set my sights on expanding into more natural based products and pushed the aspect of supporting other Black owned businesses. After my first failed twist out, I was introduced to Made Beautiful by my Sister in Law and have been hooked ever since! I decided to give the True line a try first and I can honestly admit that my hair absolutely loves it.

Why Do You Love True By Made Beautiful?

This collection focuses on hydrating by restoring dry and damaged hair. Filled with moisturizing properties such as honey and mango, the True line provides intense moisture with a very refreshing scent. I have low porosity, super thirsty hair and the True line has been one of the first that actually penetrates my hair shaft and traps moisture into my strands. On wash days I begin by co-washing with the Co-Wash Cleansing Conditioner and follow up by deep conditioning with the Intense Treatment Masque. While washing my hair, I always section it off into fours to focus on one portion at a time especially to detangle. When deep conditioning I do so with my heating cap (Low porosity hair + Deep conditioning with heat = A major win!). I typically deep condition for about 30 to 45 minutes.

To finish it up, I apply the Nourishing Leave In Conditioner followed by the Hydrating Hair Butter and my Sweet Almond Oil (LOC method). I style my hair into two strand twists and leave it alone for the week besides providing some light oil and a quick scalp massage. I can genuinely say I've never felt my hair so soft or seen it so shiny since using this line. It is also priced at an awesome price point for very full sized items so that's a win-win in my book.

I definitely recommend that you give By Made Beautiful a try and let me know your thoughts! Their products can be found on their website ByMadeBeautiful.com as well as Sally Beauty and select Walgreen's.
